| So recently, I've really wanted to train a Togekiss. Because they're awesome. Despite how annoying Para-Flinching versions can be. Those are really the only ones I see so I wanted to try and come up with something a little different, whilst at the same time abusing Serene Grace. Whilst I was thinking of a theme to base a new team around, this idea popped up, which I reckon could work pretty well. Togekiss @ LeftoversModest NatureSerene Grace ~ Mimic~ Air Slash~ Aura Sphere~ Roost EV's: 228 HP/92 Sp Atk/72 Spd/72 Def/44 Sp Def Heatran @ Life OrbModest NatureFlash Fire ~ Lava Plume~ Earth Power~ Heat Wave~ HP Grass EV's: 252 Sp Atk/112 HP/100 Spd/44 Def The Strategy So what's supposed to happen here is Heatran starts things off with Lava Plume. This takes a bit of luck, I'll admit, since Togekiss could end up becoming burnt which would really hamper its survivability. Anyway, Togekiss would then Mimic the move, gaining Lava Plume for itself. With Serene Grace, Lava Plume's burn rate goes from 30% to an awesome 60. With Heatran's Flash Fire, it won't fear these burns but instead be powered up, firing off powerful Heat Waves at both opponents. HP Grass is for Swamperts and Vaporeons, and Earth Power is for other Pokemon with Flash Fire. As for Togekiss's other moves, Roost helps it recover. With burns now having the possibility of being quite common, it'll become very durable. Air Slash is great for abusing it's awesome ability, as well as strong STAB, and Aura Sphere hits many of it's weaknesses Super Effectively. The EV's let Heatran outspeed Togekiss so the combo can get off smoothly. The rest went (pretty much) into Heatran's Special Attack and HP for power and a little bulk. Togekiss has max Lefties recovery and bulk all-round to be as durable as possible. A little went into Special Attack, too. This strategy could work especially well by surrounding Togekiss and Heatran with bulky team-mates who would appriciate burns, (I'm thinking something along the lines of Machamp) of maybe even something that can learn Role Play and packs HP Fire (copying Flash Fire). Other Pokemon with great defences in both stats would also give this team even more bulk. | |
