No, thats shoddy being gay with the hax like usual. It's like a 50/50 chance that you'll unfreeze and the "random" selection for unfreezing just put it on the staying frozen side for that many turns. It technically is possible for a pokemon to stay frozen that long in the game, just unlikely.

Instead of just waiting it out I keep a cleric on all of my teams. It saves me a lot of headaches. I recommend it. =P
