| Roserade @ Focus sash Timid 4 Hp/252 SpAtt/252 Spe ~Sleep Powder ~ Leaf Storm ~ Hidden Power Fire ~Toxic spikes I generally have to use my UU/ BL teams in OU, and this functions pretty well there, much better than it would in UU, do to everyone using poison types. Also, spinners aren't all that common in OU, so toxic spikes is just a great candidate for this team. Finally, people for some reason switch in scizor on this guy. HP fire makes quick work of them. Claydol @ Leftovers Bold 252 HP / 252 Special defense / 6 special attack ~Earth Power ~Rapid Spin ~Stealth Rock ~shadow Ball Get rid of SR for Lapras, Honchcrow and Magmortar then set up a lair of my own. Earth Power give me STAB, and shadow Ball gives me coverage against any ghosts. Lapras @ Leftovers Bold 40 HP/ 252 Def/ 136 SpAtt/ 80 SpDef ~Surf ~Thunderbolt ~Ice Beam ~Heal Bell An unexpected heal beller. It's pretty bulky, and can take a hit or two, but because of the SR weakness, I have to run the claydol above. Surf + Thunderbolt + Ice beam is only resisted by lanturn and sheginja. Magmortar @ Choice scarf Modest 6 HP/ 252 SpAtt/ 252 Speed ~ Fire Blast ~Psychic/ Hidden power Ice ~Thunderbolt ~Focus blast Even though modest may seem like a bad idea, it outspeeds adamant gyarados after 1 DD and that's all I really need, as after a DD, most people with gyarados will assume they are faster. Psychic is for poisons and pokemon like Hitmonlee (Fire blast and Psychic will do the same amount to those pokemon, but psychic has more PP and better accuracy). HP Ice would be for the dragons of OU I will have to face. Thunderbolt and focus blast are pretty much self explanatory. Honchkrow @ Life orb Adamant 6 HP/ 252 attack/ 252 speed ~Sucker Punch ~Drill Peck ~SuperPower ~Night slash I thought about making this guy jolly, but he's so freaking slow I said screw it. Pretty standard set. If someone would give me the HP EVs to make it have 11 uses that'd be nice. Regigigas @ Leftovers Impish 252 HP/ 36 attack/ 70 Def/ 146 Special defense ~ Facade/Return ~Thunder Wave ~Swaggar ~Psych up I don't think those were the exact EVs, but I maxed out HP, made both defenses hit 297, then put the rest in attack. Somthing like that. Return has more power than facade, but gigias has a tendency to get statused, so Facade is a good choice too. Thunder Wave almost always makes you faster, and swaggar + Psych up gives you a +2 attack, so in 3 turns, you have a mini slow start end, which in 2 turns after that turns into a real monster. | |

| Overall the team seems pretty solid, but I did notice a glaring weakness to rock with only 1 real resistance... - Pokemon Collector Squishy wrote:

Seems pretty decent. Not much I can really say about it if anything at all.
Claydol @ Leftovers Bold 252 HP / 252 Special defense / 6 special attack
~Earth Power ~Rapid Spin ~Stealth Rock ~Ice Beam
Get rid of SR for Lapras, Honchcrow and Magmortar then set up a lair of my own. Earth Power give me STAB, and shadow Ball gives me coverage against any ghosts. Claydol are usually utilized as physical walls due to the typing. Ghost, Ice, and Water are primarily special attacks, and that's the main reason. However, with his great bulk, he shouldn't have too much of a problem. I recommend swapping out shadow ball for ice beam as it nets you some great coverage.
Lapras @ Leftovers Bold 40 HP/ 252 Def/ 136 SpAtt/ 80 SpDef
~Surf ~Thunderbolt ~Ice Beam ~Heal Bell
An unexpected heal beller. It's pretty bulky, and can take a hit or two, but because of the SR weakness, I have to run the claydol above. Surf + Thunderbolt + Ice beam is only resisted by lanturn and sheginja.
Again seems decent. Again however, you'll have to be wary of stone edge and such.
Magmortar @ Choice scarf Modest 6 HP/ 252 SpAtt/ 252 Speed
~ Fire Blast ~Psychic/ Hidden power Ice ~Thunderbolt ~Focus blast
Even though modest may seem like a bad idea, it outspeeds adamant gyarados after 1 DD and that's all I really need, as after a DD, most people with gyarados will assume they are faster. Out of the 3 rock weaknesses on your team, this is the only one I can see warranting a swap. Unfortunately, I can't think of any good special sweepers that are resistant to rock. The best option I can come up with, is the surprise factor of the scarfed espeon. Espeon @ Choice Scarf Ability: Synchronize Modest nature 252 Sp Atk, 252 Spe, 6 Sp Def - Trick - Psychic - Grass Knot - HP-Fire/Ice Scarfed espeon makes a great check to certain OU threats by crippling them. Blissey, Skarmory, Forretress, DDmence, umbreon, and even scizor won't appreciate the scarf. Psychic is simply a STAB move that doesn't net much coverage in OU, however it lets you hit hera, loom, and champ pretty dang hard. Grass Knot is great for Suicune, Ttar, Hippowdon, and friends since they have such a glandular problem. The final slot is for you. HP-Fire lets you contend with scizor easier, but ice lets you contend with Mence substantially easier. Note that this espeon also makes a great revenge killer for smogons standard mixape, which otherwise wrecks your team. Your preference however.
Honchkrow @ Life orb Adamant 6 HP/ 252 attack/ 252 speed
~Sucker Punch ~Drill Peck ~SuperPower ~Night slash
I thought about making this guy jolly, but he's so freaking slow I said screw it. Pretty standard set. If someone would give me the HP EVs to make it have 11 uses that'd be nice. Again i'm seeing that rock weakness, but again i'm not thinking well of anything to deal with it. Wait a sec, sudden inspiration. So far this is the only idea i've got, but bare with me on it. I think you should seriously consider getting rid of honchkrow...for hariyama. If you want an all out sweeper, then look no further than... Hariyama @ Expert Belt Ability: Guts Adamant nature 252 Atk, 124 Def, 124 Sp Def, 8 HP - Close Combat - Ice Punch - Thunder Punch - Payback The lack of HP EV's is simply due to his insanely high HP stat. CC finally has a reason to be used, simply due to being his number one STAB move. Ice Punch hits gliscor and mence extremely hard. The 3rd slot is a bit of a deal breaker. Should you utilize hariyama, then all of a sudden bulkygyara is no longer a problem for your team. Seeing as bulkygyara hits all but gigas for SE damage. Payback is in the final slot as it gives you nearly unresisted type coverage with CC.
Regigigas @ Leftovers Impish 252 HP/ 36 attack/ 70 Def/ 146 Special defense
~ Facade/Return ~Thunder Wave ~Swaggar ~Psych up
I don't think those were the exact EVs, but I maxed out HP, made both defenses hit 297, then put the rest in attack.
Looks fine to me, can't really think of anything to change on it. I think a trap passer would make this guy substantially scarier. Trap something like say umbreon or anything that can't do squat to him and setup to your hearts content. A shame gigas doesn't have rest. There's my rate, and i'll possibly add more to it later. Hope these helped you in some way. | |
