Have any of you guys seen The Mummy Returns? Awesome film, awesome(ly hot) actresses, (Rachel Wiesz) awesome battle scenes (particularly Rachel Wiesz) and awesome legs (Rachel Wiesz). But enough about her. If Weavile were a person, I reckon they'd most likely be that evil bitchy woman IN The Mummy Returns who I thought looked a bit like Cleopatra. Her name escapes me now but I think that's who a Weavile would look like: classy, knows what they want, and full of sassiness. Overall, I think Weavile's slightly amazingly awesome because it's fast, powerful and has the moves to back up the stats. But something that lets it down is its Special Attack. It is hideous and I suppose that's why no one uses a special variant. I understand though- Weavile's a hands on sort of Pokemon, and doesn't mind getting down and dirty. However, the tides have turned and so I unleash this rather 'Special' Weavile.

Weavile @ Petaya Berry
Modest Nature
Pressure
EV's: 252 Sp Atk/252 Speed/6 HP

~ Substitute
~ Nasty Plot
~ Ice Beam
~ Dark Pulse

So much like that evil bitchy woman in The Mummy Returns, this Weavile is, quite literally, nasssssttttyyyyyy. Substitute and NP whilst you have the chance, firing off your beams and pulses of nastiness when the time is right. Having a Petaya Berry as an item may seem counter-productive but you may not always get the chance to get your stats up yourself if your opponent is the all-out-attacking type. After all, the Special Attack stat is so low, even a one stage raise is helpful. True, this is very easily wallable but this is the gimmicks section after all, right? So on a closing note- Biggie Smalls, you were so right: Weavile is one nasty girl.

I would run Blizzard over Ice Beam and stick it on a Hail team. Every bit of power matters when it comes to such... Horrifyingly bad Sp.Atk...

Another thing would be to run a timid nature option. With such a blistering speed, you'll want to make use of it. It'll also come in handy when it's necessary to outpace +speed base 115 and up such as starmie. Overall though, nice set. The only problem I see it really having is scizor, so HP-Fire might find a home on the set (doubt it, but you never know)

Bullet Punch doesn't care about Weavile's Spd.

I wasn't referring to scizor caring about Weavile's speed, I was referring to +speed base 115's and up caring about weavile's speed. Another thing that suddenly dawns on me, is you'll want to get rid of mixapes before bringing this guy out. You'll have a lot to fear from close combat, but even more to fear from Vacuum Wave.

Nice suggestions, guys! Yeah, this Weavile is very Scizor weak, but really, what Weavile isn't (well, except for those rare ones with Counter)? It would probably be a good idea to stick it on a team with something that does a pretty good job at walling Scizor. And yeah, Mixape would definately be a problem, too. Something that's jumped out at me is Lanturn: Nice bulkiness means it can take Bullet Punches all day and can take hits from Infernape and hit back hard, so that could be a good idea?

Anywho, here's another gimmick for Weavile, this time trying its hardest to abuse its ability, Pressure. I think this guy is solidly in the running for the 'Worst, Most Useless Ability Possible on a Pokemon Ever' award, purely because it's just so fragile. But if you draw on Weavile's strong points and take it from there, even this speedy feline can be a dab hand at PP stalling.

Weavile @ Leftovers
Jolly Nature
Pressure
EV's: 220 HP/176 Spd/96 Sp Def/16 Def

~ Protect
~ Substitute
~ Spite
~ Ice Punch

So, unlike many-a-Weavile, this one is pretty much as defensive as they come. Protect, Substitute and Spite allow Weavile to work its stalling prowess, and attack if needs be with Ice Punch (you could easily go for Night Slash instead, but I've got this thing about the dragons- I like to get them out of the way).

The EV's are definately 'different' since it makes for a somewhat bulkier 'Vile. HP EV's are given for max Lefties recovery whilst a decent amount went into Special Defence since that stat isn't actually half bad. I chucked a good load into Speed, since Weavile is renouned for that, and the last went into Defence but only because I like to think I've given it at least some chance at surviving a punch of some sort. But if you don't care for Defence then hey, chuck those last ones into Speed too for a bit more zip. They say you can get too much of a good thing but really, whoever believed that anyway?
