each characteristic means those IV's.

if you look on your pokemons summary, itll say something like:

Loves to eat.

if it says that, looking off that chart, it means it has a chance of having 0-30 IVs for HP.

so i may have one that says that, and it could have any number of IV's between 0-30.

based on the chart, for HP you would want its summary/characteristic to say

Often dozes off


because its IV's can be between 0-31, so you can have a chance of having a maxed IV in HP on your pokemon.

oh lol, no youre not. its is a bit confusing... anyways.. when you get to the calculator.. i guess its better (more accurate) if your pokemon is at lv 30... you put in what pokemon it is, what nature, what lv, what its stats are, and if youve ev'd it at all and then.. it will do the superamazingtotallynerdishtypepersonwhomakededit calculations.... -.-

ok now, i guess ive been neglecting this forum which is supposed tobe heavily supported by me...that being said, this chart differes the main range of your pokemons highest IV stat. granted, pokemon will still be able to achieve 31 in other Ivs with a little effort the point being that this renders and makes obvious your pokemon's naturaly dominant stat, for example, the characteristic my pokemon has dictates that he is able to achieve 28-31 in attk for ivs in that range. this clarifies that this pokemon is best used for attking purposes. the rest is indifferent... now per say that your pokemon has 31 ivs in attk then whatever characteristic hols holds a max of 31 is likely to be its character...
