Shuckle;Impish;Leftovers Knock Off Toxic Stealth Rock Rest very annoying for the opponent, very boring for the trainer to use. it is walled by a steel, poison, and cleric pokemon. i guess he is alright as a lead, but dont expect him to do much early in the game.
Poliwrath(not copying yanks, but he cant take good UU pokemon for his own);Jolly;Salac Berry Hypnosis Substitute Bulk Up Focus Punch
this poliwrath is very copy and pasted. it works pretty well, sleep clause kinda screws it over but if the opponent lets you set up it can be devistating. you may want to swap focus punch for waterfall just so you can ensure an atk even if you dont have a sub up. waterfall is walled by Water Absord pokemon but i think you will find it over all more useful.
Swellow;Jolly;Toxic Orb Facade U-Turn Brave Bird Protect again, a very standard moveset. just keep in mind that if he is outsped, he is going down. remember to swap him out after a few turns so the toxic damage doesnt build up too much. this has been proven to work very well and is occasionally seen in OU teams because of its speed and power.
Hitmontop;Adamant;Leftovers Bulk Up Revenge Mach Punch Stone Edge eh, this hitmontop is alright. your team is rather setup oriented and that could lead to some problems. id suggest a priority based, technician hitmontop. Fake Out, Bullet Punch, Mach Punch, and Rapid Spin would be slightly more helpful to your team as a whole. that allows you to make a full Atk, while slightly bulky Hitmontop which, like i said, is more beneficial overall to your team.
Luxray;Adamant;Salac Berry Substitute
Charge Crunch/Ice Fang Spark Quick Attack If you are subbing down to get the salac boost, charge isnt gonna help you much. Id suggest giving him some extra coverage with a move like crunch or ice fang. idk, it isnt a very solid moveset but i dont really know how to make it any better.
Kabutops;Adamant;Mystic Water Muscle Band/Focus Sash Swords Dance Aqua Jet
Waterfall Aerial Ace/X-Scissor Stone Edge idk how easily kabutops can setup a swords dance and that kind of worries me. with Focus Sash he will definately get a SD up and be able to do some damage with Aqua Jet and Stone Edge. Id suggest swapping Waterfall for some other move like Aerial Ace or X-Scissor. Those moves will give your team more atking coverage and will make kabutops more rounded as a sweeper.
This is a BIG work in progress so i will take ANY criticism possible including advice on taking out a pokemon. Thanks for helping! Granted you said you got ideas from smogon, i highly recommend against using their movesets. the are pretty solid, but there are definately better movesets out there. use smogon for clues to figure out a pokemon's stronger moves, but dont copy and paste their ideas. it is rather noob-ish and shows a lack of original planning on the trainers part. all corrections are in bold in the quote. this team has a few major flaws in it: 1. all the pokemon are physical. weezing and any other physical tank will eat this team alive. -Add atleast 2 special atking pokemon, 3 would be prefferable (2 sweepers and a tank with special atks) 2. other than shuckle your team has almost no tanks. hitmontop makes a decent all around tank but him and shuckle wont cut it. -pokemon like wigglytuff, clefable, and venasuar all make excellent spec def tanks. (plus they all are mainly special atkers) so work on fixing those and then ill take another look at your team. | |
