| W00T!!! Time for a truly awesome PoTW! ^_^ First up, Sand Trapper Flygon @ Life Orb Ability: Levitate Naive nature 252 Atk, 212 Spe, 32 HP, 12 Sp Atk - Sand Tomb - Outrage - U-turn - Fire Blast Really cool gimmick set I came up with. Sand Tomb traps the foe in a tomb...of sand! Which means they're unable to switch out. This means you're free to do one of many things. You can KO them with Outrage (They can't switch to their steel type now) U-turn over to a setup sweeper for ONE free turn of setup. Switch over to a setup sweeper (If they outspeed you and outright threaten you) Fire Blast is sort of a filler, but is good for a 2HKO on Skarmory. Outrage is STAB obviously, and in their tomb, they can't bring in a steel type to absorb the hit. U-turn is great for getting in a counter/setup sweeper, and some damage.
EV's First things first, we need to maximize his attack. Then we needed a speed bar. I find it pointless to simply speed tie with base 100's, so enough speed was used to outspeed max speed positive base 95's. Then enough EV's were delegated to HP for 11 uses of the life orb. Finally, any remainder were used to boost his fire blast's power. Revenge Flygon @ Choice Scarf/Choice Band Ability: Levitate Lonely nature 252 Atk, 180 Spe, 76 Sp Atk - Outrage - Earthquake - Fire Blast - U-turn My personally favorite flygon set is easily the choice scarfed flygon, as it can effectively pull off several things. Early and Mid game, he can come in and scout with U-turn. His resistance to stealth rock means switching back in later is easier than you might need to think. Late Game however, he can tear through somebody after steels are gone with outrage. Of course you can also tear through stuff with earthquake at any stage of the game. Fire Blast is sort of a filler move, but is effective for hitting Skarmory, Magnezone, and things like that, but stone edge makes a decent alternative if you want to hit gyarados and zapdos harder. EV's Max attack is fairly obvious, but regardless of which set you use, a +atk nature is recommended. Although if you'd like, you can shift to a naive nature for the scarf set and max speed to tie with +1 salamence. However, the attack drop is pretty noticeable. Speed puts him just beyond the smogon standard, which is a plus. Any remainder is to beef up fire blast. Shades Flygon @ Choice Specs Ability: Levitate Modest nature 252 Sp Atk, 180 Spe, 76 HP - Fire Blast - Draco Meteor - HP-Electric - Earth Power A purely special variation of flygon, that could warrant some nice usage if given proper support. Draco Meteor is insanely high powered STAB, and backed up by the specs will destroy anything in the early game stages not part steel. Fire Blast is to hit skarmory and such. Earth power is to hit heatran with some 4x STAB loving, as well as magnezone. HP-Electric is on the set, as it's your best chance at dealing any significant damage to Gyarados. EV's See above choiced flygon sets ^ Flail Flygon @ Liechi Berry Ability: Levitate Adamant/Lonely nature 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 6 Def - Substitute - Flail - Rock Tomb - Earthquake/Fire Blast This is a set I just kinda made up off the top of my head when I noticed flygon's got Rock Tomb in his movepool. You see, if rock tomb hits, the foe instantly loses a stage of speed, which is like saying flygon just got +1 speed. Substitute keeps you free from status, and helps you get down to that magic flail mark. Flail is the main aim of the set, as when you've got that 1 HP, you're slamming into the opponent with a move more powerful than a STAB Outrage. The last slot is kinda difficult to choose from, as each has its pro's and cons. With Earthquake, you aren't walled by heatran and magnezone, but with fire blast, you aren't walled by bronzong or skarmory. Out of my own personal preference I recommend fire blast. EV's EV's are relatively straight forward. Since you're dropping the foes speed, you don't need a jolly nature or salac berry, meaning you can hit even harder. 6 Def/Sp Atk is necessary for that magic sub mark. Please don't let me be the only contributor peoples...

| Mixgon
Flygon@lifeorb/scarf Ability: Levitate Nature: Hasty/Mild 252 spd 240 spatk 16 atk -Draco meteor -Earthquake -Flamethrower/fire blast -roost/outrage/dragon claw
If u thought that mence was the only wallbreaker think again, Flygon can succesfully come in on most walls, sweepers with its variety of resistances and immunities, they will then goto there steel, bulky water, and BAM u bust their blank. Draco meteor has to be on this set, along with earthquake, because they both get stab, and are very powerful, and unlike mence, Flygon has stab on earthquake. Flamethrower or fire blast is your decision, accuarcy or power. And finally the last slot, whih decides ur items too, either life orb with roost, or scarf with outrage.
Ofcourse the evs and natures can be swithced, bent, or broken however u like, but this is how i use him. U couldd even make him bulkier and pu toxic on it if u want too.
The point of this set is to catch an opponent expecting ur easy predictable u turn and insted get smacked with surprise. Unfortunately, mence does outclass, besides the stab on EQ, but mence has better atk, but if u like flygon, and his typing and movepool fits into ur team, then use him.
