| Illumise @ Leftovers Ability: Tinted Lense Nature: Modest EVs: 248HP, 100SpAtk, 160Speed - Bug Buzz - Encore/Substitute - Growth - HiddenPower-Ice/Roost Illumise is a BA pokemon people should start using her >=3 lol Bug Buzz for the stab of course, Encore to lock an opponent into a move (hopefully a non harmful move lol) then it can safely growth and set up its SpAtk, Hidden Power Ice is there for coverage to help it against birds that think they can stop Illumise's bug buzz, Substitute is an option if you rather feel safer trying to protect yourself that way, Roost is another option for the 4th slot if you rather want the recovery move. | |

| Hey Net! Really cool Illumise set (the EVs look solid which is always my problem). You might want to try Hidden Power-Fire instead of Hidden Power-Ice because most likely Steels will be sent out on a Bug pokemon using Bug-type moves. Since Ice is only half as effective to Steels (but twice as effective to Flying-types) and the abundance of Mawile in NU, I would personally go for the super effectiveness on Steel than a weakness to it (even with Tinted Lens). There are plenty of other pokemon that can help take care of Flying-types like Chatot and Pidgeot, such as Plusle and Minun, so it has its uses if you pair it up with them.
Yeah Illumise is pretty BA. If only it had more moves for a Specs set ='(.
EDIT: Also I to anybody who cares Net's set is pretty awesome if you try a Sub/Roost with Growth and Bug Buzz since Tinted Lens would boost it if typing is an issue. | |

| Illumise could make a good toxi-staller set non? Resistance to both of parasects STAB can be a nice saving grace in NU Illumise @ Lum Berry Ability: Tinted Lens Modest nature 252 Sp Atk, 248 HP, 8 Sp Def - Toxic - Roost - Bug Buzz - HP-Fire This makes for a great check on parasect seeing as with no boosts to speed at all it outruns them. Toxic is obviously your primary form of dealing damage. Roost is used for increased longevity. Bug Buzz is reliable STAB that when backed up by tinted lens can do some decent damage. HP-Fire wraps up the set for your way to deal damage to mawile and parasect as well. EV's 248 HP is required for Stealth Rock damage to round down. Illumise's HP stat is poor, so a lefties number is useless. Special attack is maximized to power up both attacks. Finally, any remainder were placed into special defense for a little buffer. And Tori, Illumise DEFINITELY has the stuff to pull a choiced set out of a hat. Illumise @ Choice Specs/Choice Scarf Ability: Tinted Lens Modest nature 252 Sp Atk, 252 Spe, 6 Def - Bug Buzz - Shadow Ball - HP-Fighting/Fire - Thunderbolt Tinted Lens Bug Buzz is your primary mode of sweeping, and the other moves are mostly coverage reasons. Shadow Ball is for smacking around chimecho and such. HP-Fighting has perfect coverage with shadow ball, and lands a super effective hit on wigglytuff, exploud, raticate, and mawile. HP-Fire however, lands the super effective hit on parasect and mawile. Thunderbolt wraps up the set to deal with ledian's, and corsola's, and Chatot. The item choice is up to you, but modest is recommended for both sets. EV's Obviously special attack and speed were maximized no matter which item you use. But even when using the specs the power boost provided by modest is definitely required to sweep effectively. Scarf makes a good revenge killer, and specs provides good late game sweeping after the foe's been weakened, and any faster foes have been paralyzed. The remainder EV's were put into Def so illumise could be provided with that extra switch into stealth rock. A very big bonus indeed. Ok, everybody else's turn to contribute. | |
