| Vaporeon @ Leftovers Ability: Water Absorb Modest Nature 252 HP 252 Def 4 SpA -HP (Electric) -Wish -Fake Tears -Surf
I havent done one of these before so be easy on me.
An obvious choice is a water type since gyarados's only attacking move is a water type. vaporeon has water absorb so it takes no damage. Fake tears is just to weaken gyarados's pretty good Spd and i can use it as much as i like, then use HP Electric to finish Gyarados. surf is for when gyarados is gone as its other attack and i think wish is only 1 option of a lot (surf, toxic, protect are some) but i think with surf, wish should be the choice. not sure about the EVs lol but i thought boost its already good HP and boost its not so go Def. it already has decent SpA and with Modest nature and Fake Tears it seemed alright.

Well, the fact of the matter is that a Gyarados whose only attack is Water type is forced to switch out against something with Dry Skin or Water Absorb! Fake Tears catches switch-ins, and probably forces ANOTHER switch. Rocks, anyone?

But the harder your OWN Pokemon is to counter, the better. You don't WANT someone to counter you easily. THAT'S the point.
